La Petite Rose is a small but very pleasant tea salon and patisserie located in the 8th district. The shop has a Japanese owner, Miyuki Watanabe, which makes it all the more interesting.
Located on the blvd de Courcelles, La Petite Rose has some of the best chocolate, cakes and macarons I've tasted while in Paris. Not only that, but the staff (all Japanese as well), is quite nice and attentive as well.
Interestingly enough, the shop is located just a few feet away from hugely famous (and tasty) Lenotre. As far as prices go, La Petite Rose is a great alternative: It's a lot less expensive and pretty darn good too. My favorite? The costa rica, a rich chocolate desert with coffee mousse on a crispy cookie. Don’t leave without getting one…or two.
