M.C. Hammer did indeed make these pants known throughout the world 20 years ago while performing his flashy dance moves, and now they’re back with a fury. The only difference seems to be the material (think luxury fabrics now) and how you wear them. Blazers? Check. High heels, definitely. Personally, I'm pretty sure I won't be putting on a pair, (please Hammer don't hurt me) but I might get a pair for my daughter (yes kids are wearing them too!)

If you like them and are intent on wearing a pair, here are a few tips I’d offer. No I’m not a fashionista and I don’t work for a famous couturier, but I can tell you what I’ve seen on the streets of Paris and... some of it was just plain ugly.

If you gotta make this fashion statement:

• Please do not overly accessorize when wearing them. The pants are enough. Really.
• They come in different degrees of "bagginess"...Whatever you choose, don’t wear a lose shirt on top, its waaay too much with the baggy bottoms.
• Don’t wear the short version unless you’re really young, um like10. The longer version looks better on most people.
• Men (ahem younger men) can wear them too, but please don’t wear dress shoes! Sneakers and a tee are much better. Really.

In any case, Paris is Paris…wear what you want, but I’m just saying…
