Combing for a Black Hair Salon in Paris

hair

When it comes to getting my hair done I, like most African Americans I know, need it. It's not like we are addicted to it (or maybe we are), but we want and need our hair to look "right". When I first moved to Paris over ten years ago, that was one of my first missions: finding a good hair salon that did black hair, specifically African-American hair. I had just moved from New York City and I had been spoiled!

Coffee Parisien
image001coffee_parisien.jpgThe main reason I adore Coffee Parisien is because of their great pancakes. Now, there are three locations--two in Paris and one in Neuilly Sur Seine. My favorite address is the one in the 16th. You'll want to be there at noon when they open if you go on the weekends because it's especially crowded then.

Ask Madame! (Issue #11)

605271_letter_and_rose_concept.jpgDear Madame,

I've been sleeping with this man whom I'm really starting to fall for. Right after we make love he starts saying things like he needs a girlfriend. I'm left wondering if he is talking about me, or someone else? I'm starting to think this is a "friends with benefits" relationship. I tried to explain this to him in French but he acts like he doesn't understand. Even though he didn't understand the term, I'm pretty sure he has to understand what I'm getting at. There's something wrong here though, I'm sure.

Signed,

Wondering

What's Hot? Le Bar 30!

0001bar.jpgWhen you enter this bar you feel like you've entered another dimension, say Paris 1930s? This is a great place to go, especially when you've already been to the Buddha Bar, which is located right across the street.

Leaving your spouse at home and traveling abroad is an increasing trend among baby boomer women. One way to afford the luxury you want is by timeshare rental. Situated in great locations all over Paris and throughout France you'll enjoy more spacious and elegant suites in timeshare rentals than in most hotels.
