Expat Examined: Tom Reeves
Written by Priscilla Lalisse-Jespersen
Tom ReevesThe folks over at Discover Paris know something about Paris. In fact, they know a whole lot. Tom Reeves (president) and his wife Monique Wells have over 32 collective years of living and working in Paris. If that doesn’t qualify them to provide you with a unique and specialized itinerary for the city of light, then we don’t know what would. They’re also authors (both of them). Did I mention that they really know Paris inside and out? Prissy Mag recently had a talk with Tom and here’s what he told us when we asked him our favorite expat questions.

Expat Examined: Kim Petyt
Written by Priscilla Lalisse-Jespersen
kim_peytKim Petyt, an American wedding planner based here in Paris, is one admirable woman. She's been creating events for almost 10 years, both in the U.S. and in France, and is the Owner and Managing Director of a full-service wedding and event planning agency called Parisian Events, which caters to the English-speaking community in Paris. Her specialty is combining traditional American elements with classic Parisian elegance. Kim recently made time in her busy schedule to talk to us and here's what she had to say.

Expat Examined: Deborah Heard

1september_9_09Deborah Heard is a world traveler, plain and simple. That's why I wasn't surprised when she decided to pack up and move to Paris for an extended vacation of three months...living in an apartment and enjoying the city à la facon francaise. Prissy Mag asked her to reflect back on her adventure here, and this is what she told us.

Good Bye Paris!
Written by Ariana Austin
image0001a_austin_photo_bio_.jpgWell, its over. A bit shorter than I thought, but I decided a few months ago that I would leave Paris as soon as my teaching was over. And mission accomplished. I read and I wrote. I lived in a new country and discovered a different approach to life, a different way of living with people, I published. I met writers and I drank coffee, smoked cigarettes and listened to the way the French spoke. I danced all night from Paris to Madrid. And there are things (like working!) to be done in the States while I would love to prolong my “toujours en vacances” in Paris.

01flatmates_in_paris.jpgI'm devoting this month to my amazing flatmates: fellow language assistants, closest friends, and sometime annoyances...
