The Curious Case of Benjamin Button

01benjamin_button_26feb_09.jpgThis movie was good...so good that I have to go back and read the original story by F. Scott Fitzgerald.

Brad Pitt is Brad Pitt, so what can I say? I'll just say he was brilliant and drop dead gorgeous when he reached his 40 year-old motor-cycle riding age in the movie.

Cate Blanchett is...well Cate Blanchett. Talented with a capital T that dame is. And I must say I was proud of Taraji P. Henson . I first saw her perform in Hustle & Flow and since then, it has been impossible to forget her name or her acting skills. Scottish actress Tilda Swinton is brilliant. I could on and on. Everyone plays their part. Literally.

The other elements of the movie-the scenery, the make-up, the story itself, were all well done (a huge understatement, I admit.) But the film does have many endearing elements. It's funny, adventurous, mysterious, emotional. I won't spoil it by divulging too many details. I think one reviewer put it quite well: Whether you are young, old or somewhere in the middle, make sure you find time for this saga.

I do wonder what F. Scott would think of it.
