"Oceans" Exposition and Workshop
Written by Arnaud De Laitre
oceansFollowing the success of the movie Oceans which is now in theaters, the Jardin d'Acclimation is featuring a backstage film directed by Jacques Perrin and Jacques Cluzaud at the Zoo from February 10 to March 10. This exhibition will be inaugurated Wednesday, February 10 at 14:30 by Jacques Perrin, director of the film.

Produced in partnership with EDF, all the secrets of filming this huge movie worldwide will also be revealed during the exhibition, including the means used to shoot fish, corals, and marine mammals in their natural element. Upon entering the garden, you will discover "Thetis", a zodiac extended crane secured to a camera. You'll meet “Simeon”, a camera shaped like a torpedo, towed by a boat, allowed to film in cinematic terms, dolphins, tuna and other inhabitants of the seabed.

An interactive wall of sound created for the film will take you through all the filming locations dotted around a large map of the world. Everyone can, headphones over his ears, hear the "cries" or "songs" of various "heroes" of the film. The best photos of the film will also be unveiled.

Overexploitation, pollution, global warming, the three main factors for the disappearance of marine species will also be explained through a learning path for both children and their parents. Do not miss two exceptional "making-of" screenings, which will take place in the Theater of the Zoo in the presence of the film crew on Sunday 21 and February 28. (Duration of the making-of: 20 minutes followed by a discussion with the team)

The Garden Workshops will have educational workshops inspired by the film. (Duration: 2 hours - 19 € entry including the Garden).
