Skinny Minis Banned!
Written by Priscilla Lalisse

anorexia.jpgWas it the Duchess of Windsor who said “You can never be too thin”? Well, she lied! France’s National Assembly has adopted a law to punish websites and publications suspected of encouraging anorexia.

There are an estimated 40,000 people in France alone who suffer from anorexia. 90 percent of them are young women. Since the death of Brazilian model Ana Carolina Reston of anorexia in 2006, the fashion industry has been at the center of this controversy, which is no surprise. How many girls out there (and women) are starving themselves to look like these waifs who can barely strut down the runway? Oh for shame, for shame, I say!!!

Hopefully, this law is only the beginning and these people who encourage this will be shut down. The bill comes with punishments of up to three years in prison and more than $70,000 in fines. More is needed though, lots more, but this could be a good start. What do you think? Write us!
